Volunteers are an integral part to running the Musical Arts Youth Orchestra.  What types of jobs are available? Jobs that last 2 hours to jobs that repeat weekly.

CURRENT NEEDS
Treasurer:  MAYO needs someone with a financial background that can review financial documents, help with local, state and federal filings, and preparing budgets for grants.

Volunteer Spring Cleaning Crew:  This is a onetime event, every Spring, help spruce up our office space.  Date TBA

Website Maintenance:  MAYO needs someone who can add weekly announcements, pictures, and other information to the website.  No special software is needed, but some training is required.

Music Library:  Alicia Sanders

Publicity Manager:  MAYO needs someone who would like to initiative in marketing MAYO's philosophy to businesspeople, community members, educators and schools.  Help send press releases and develop a marketing plan.  Work with Public Affairs Director, Executive Director and marketing interns.

Graphic Designer:  MAYO needs help with various design projects throughout the year.  There is a quick turnaround required on all projects.  Projects include t-shirt design, program book, program book cover art, posters, and various brochures.

Technology Manager:  MAYO needs some help with technology.  We recently inherited some computer equipment. And, with a revolving volunteer staff, it would be great to help a "help-line" number for when machinery and technology aren't cooperating.  If this is your strength, let us know!

Special Events:  We need MAYO helpers who can be available to represent MAYO at community events and special events - usually held in early evenings, weekends, and without much notice.  Sometimes we receive only a day's notice ... so, if you are flexible and friendly, this might be the perfect opportunity.  Set up a booth, hand out some flyers, and enjoy some conversations with interested community members.

Rehearsal Help:  Are you available during rehearsal time?  Often, the orchestra manager is so busy that she needs extra sets of hands.  Help with setting up chairs, passing out new music, handing out new member packets, and sell t-shirts -- these are among some of the things you can do to help.

Concert Help:  MAYO needs helps setting up for concerts - chairs, music stands, percussion equipment, etc.  Also, folding concert programs, stuffing inserts, handing out program books, manning booths in the front office, planning a pizza party or special food for before / after concerts, and transportation (of coaches, supplies).
