Chamber Music

Open to interested young musicians with varied backgrounds, the MAYO Chamber Music Program provides weekly coaching sessions in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

Ensembles will be formed with an eye to matching students' abilities and interests.

Groups meet at times agreeable to group members and coaches.  Individual group members are responsible for maintaining their chamber music schedules.

For more information, contact the MAYO staff at info@mayomusic.org.

Jazz

The jazz program is open by audition to interested students playing woodwind, brass, vibraphone (vibes), piano, bass, and drumset. Focus will be on improvisation and ensemble playing.

Students audition in the fall, and if availibility, in January. Participants meet weekly to rehearse and perform at least one major concert each semester. Informal performances or jam sessions may take place each month.

MAYO Jazz participants will receive coaching sessions by leading professionals and work with guest artists in the jazz field.
