A recipient of the Fritz Kreisler Award upon
graduation from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, Paul Ghun
Kim began his conducting career at the age of 18 as the Resident Conductor of the
Hartwick College Summer Music Festival. He has since held posts as the Music
Director of New Academy Orchestra of Amsterdam, the Assistant Conductor at the
Shepherd School of Music, and as cover conductor
for the Kansas City Symphony and the Manhattan School of Music. He has also
assisted Hans Graf in the Houston premier of Mozart’s Davide Penitente and has
conducted the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Canada. Recently, he
has conducted the New World Symphony in a masterclass with Michael Tilson
Thomas.
