MAYO will be hosting a parent meeting on September 26th, 2011 at 6:30 PM to approximately 7:45 PM.

Parents must sign-in students who are under the age of 16 upon arrival at MAYO rehearsals. Please note that the calendar is still being updated for the 2011-2012 season. Concert dates and times are subject to change.

Students who drive themselves to MAYO rehearsals and are planning to be absent should send an e-mail informing us to info@mayomusic.org

MAYO invites parents to join the Parent Advisory Committee.  This committee will meet during rehearsals and be responsible for rehearsal snacks, rehearsal and concert set-up, spirit of the week activity, publicity (poster distribution), special contests, pizza parties, and weekly attendance. And, anything else the Parent Advisory Committee wants to do!

One parent advisory committee member will be asked to join the board meeting to keep the board connected with the parents!  Please complete the form to join the Parent Advisory Committee.

All Financial Aid recipients are required to volunteer this year.

Parents, students and families will have new ways to raise money for their tuition and tour accounts.

SCRIP PROGRAM & AD SALES

MAYO has partnered with the Great Lakes Scrip Center to offer a convenient fundraiser for students and families.

Q: What is scrip?
A:  Traditional (paper) "Scrip" is simply another name for "Gift Certificates." If you have ever used a gift certificate, then you've used Scrip. Scrip can be used to purchase anything, from groceries, fuel, clothing, toys and cosmetics, to entertainment, electronics, or home improvement items.

When you buy SCRIP through MAYO, the merchants give MAYO a percentage of your purchase.  So if you buy $50 worth of SCRIP, you get $50 worth of gift certificates at the merchants of your choice, and the merchants give MAYO a percentage - usually between 3 and 15 percent.

Q: How is scrip used? A: Just like cash.  This means that you just present your SCRIP gift certificate for payment at the register without any restrictions.

Q: How does scrip work at MAYO?

• SCRIP orders and payment need to be placed on-line at www.shopwithscrip.com by 11:00 am on Fridays. 
• SCRIP orders may be paid: 1.) using Presto Pay at www.shopwithscrip.com (direct withdrawl from a bank account);  2.) By check - made payable to MAYO.  Please deliver or mail check to the MAYO office or give to SCRIP Coordinator at MAYO Orchestra or Jazz rehearsal.
• SCRIP orders are processed every Saturday morning.  SCRIP orders without payment will not be processed.
• SCRIP order is a one-week process.  Gift cards are delivered to the MAYO Office the following Saturday. Pick-up is from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on Saturdays or at your next scheduled rehearsal.

Q: What can the earning potential of our organization be? A: If 100 families each purchase $75 of grocery Scrip (4% discount) each week for 9 months of school and voluntarily allocate their rebate to MAYO, they would generate $300 weekly as a charitable donation to MAYO which is tax deductible...or $1,200 monthly, or $14,400 yearly!  Just for buying groceries!  

If the same 100 families also purchased additional consumables totaling $125 per family - things such as clothing, books, gifts, etc. - also at an average of about 5% rebate which they voluntarily allocate to MAYO, they would generate an additional $625 a week as a charitable donation to MAYO which is tax deductible...or $2,500 monthly, or $22,500 for the year!

Q: Can other members of my family or friends purchase Scrip through our program?  A: Absolutely!  We encourage you to extend this program to grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, neighbors and co-workers.  Just add their purchase to your order or have them sign-up at: www.shopwithscrip.com and indicate the MAYO Family Code.

Please note: Gift cards will only be delivered to MAYO, so it is the responsibility of a MAYO parent to pick-up those cards or have family or friends come to MAYO to pick-up.

Q: IS SCRIP TAX DEDUCTIBLE? A: Yes, if you voluntarily allocate your rebate to MAYO as a charitable donation.  You will have that option on your SCRIP account.  The agreement form is attached.

All MAYO Families can now participate in a new ad campaign. Ask your friends, family, local businesses, your doctor, dentist, hairdresser, to support MAYO on your behalf.  You will receive "quota" credit for any sponsorship  or ad sale you help MAYO get (as long as they are not already a current supporter - so if you're not sure, check with us first). 

What's quota credit?  This is applied to your tuition and will actually give you a rebate value for the tour payment due in October, December, and February. 

Any quota not used for the tour this year will be applied to tuition that is due next year.  Quota is non-transferable.  Quota is not redeemable for cash.
