Musical Arts Youth Organization Mission
The Musical Arts Youth Organization's mission is to provide musical training to a wide array of students of all levels and backgrounds, to promote excellence while fostering individual development, and to prepare students not just as musicians but as community members.
- MAYO serves Monroe and surrounding counties for students up to age 26.
- MAYO will provide services that train young people in the classical field of strings and chamber music.
- MAYO provides services that allow young people to experience jazz and other popular genres in small group performance and rehearsal-based experiences.
Students of all ages, from grade school through college, are welcome to audition for MAYO. Financial assistance is available for any who may need it. Musicians are expected to participate in their school music programs and to study their instruments seriously.
