CLASSICAL MUSICIANS:
Musicians will be asked to play a solo and a scale for the music director. Chamber musicians can elect to audition for symphony at the same time. The "audition" will not be stressful and it's just a way for the directors to get to know you and your playing.
TIPS: Prepare a solo that shows your talent! Contrasting movements are a great way to share technical skills and lyricism.
Are you unable to make the audition dates? Please let us know at info@mayomusic.org. We will set up a private audition time for you - typically Mondays at 6:30 pm at Grandview Elementary School. THANKS!
JAZZ AND ROCK MUSICIANS (it's a jam):
Pick a date that works best for you. Arrive on one of the first three Wednesdays at 6:30 pm with aninstrument ready to play with the ensemble. Placements are made during that time. The director will give you an ensemble schedule soon after the audition jam.
Are you new to your instrument, or play exceptionally well? Check with Neil Ferris to see if he has an ensemble for you at nferris@mayomusic.org.
