Good Readings and Great Flexibility 12/01/2009
You did a fantastic job sight reading some great literature. Sight reading is a great skill to develop. Next week, we'll be sight reading the compositions submitted by the young graduate composers at IU Jacobs School of Music. A special plea: Is there anyone who has access to the review published in the Herald Times on November 24? We would love it if you would scan the review and send to us at jose@mayomusic.org. We would love to see it and share it! Just wait until you see and hear the music we'll be playing next week. The titles of the pieces are (in no particular order of preference): - Kaguya-Hime by Hiroyuki Sakurai - Legacies by Clint Needham - Jubilation Dance by Brian Ciach - Samba Hoochoo Hairy Koochoo by Eric Lindsay - Twice the Rising Sun by Jonathan Sokol Make sure you come to rehearsal to experience a privilege in music-making, that privelege of helping to realize a composer's intent and participate in the making of something that hasn't been heard before. See you soon! I consider it my privilege to work with you. CommentsLeave a Reply |
